Chance the Westie-Poo
A Story of Survival, Strength, and Unconditional Love
Chance is a puppy mill survivor who was rescued at just 11 months old. From the moment he found safety and compassion, he began sharing that same love with everyone he met. Over the years, Chance has been an office therapy dog, service dog, and loyal best friend, offering comfort and connection to clients, staff, and anyone in need of a gentle paw and a warm heart.
In October 2025, Chance was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma (HSA) — a rare and aggressive form of cancer that develops in the blood vessel walls. HSA often advances quietly, making early detection challenging and treatment complex.
Today, Chance is still very much with us, courageously undergoing chemotherapy and continuing to inspire everyone around him with his calm spirit, resilience, and endless capacity for joy. Even during treatment, he reminds us daily that healing is not just about the body — it’s about love, presence, and finding hope in each new day.
Through his journey, Chance continues to raise awareness for Hemangiosarcoma (HSA) and to support other pet parents navigating serious illness or loss. His story is one of courage, connection, and the unbreakable bond between humans and their beloved companions.
You can follow Chance’s ongoing journey and join his community of supporters on social media, where we share updates, educational resources, and reflections on love, loss, and resilience.
“Chance teaches us that healing isn’t about how much time we have — it’s about how deeply we love during the time we’re given.”
